What attracts those people are the English bars / resturants / shops , what have we seen in last year ?, exactly that with also big supermarkets introducing english sections and availability of english newspapers, how long before the first 'kiss me quick' hat stall ?!!

Sounded so plausible until you get to the completion date!

Whereabouts are you?

I think it is a shame about developing the old Guardia site as a restaurant. I love that part of Barossa and think it is quite atmospheric.

Interesting though about the bullring deveopment. Does it give any idea what kind of commercial development it could be?

The development by the mambo bar is absolutely enormous! I gather it is going to have an artificial lake! How can an artificial lake compete with the view of the sea (particularly from that part of the coastline). It looks like it is probably going to be one of those 'exclusive all-in' developments - who needs more hotels, there are loads of them already.

I don't know where the Gaurdia ruin is, is that near the mambo?

There are developments popping up all along the coast, I was very sad last time we drove along the coast road from NSP to Conil as there were areas where the trees had all been chopped down and the beginnings of new developments could be seen. The 'protected forest' seems on very thin ice to me......

As for Sancti Petri, well, I guess something was always going to happen there, as half of it had already been pulled down, I just hope it doesn't turn into a small scale Puerto Banus or something tacky like that....like someone said early, the kiss me quick hat stands will be next....

Just past the development you speak of is a road on your right, on the headland at the end of the road is the derelict building ex guardia civil , directly below that on the beach is paradise , The Mamabo Beach bar , keep it to yourself !!

As for the development next to the bullring , there will be a very large underground car park , retail outlets above , although this is last on the list of developments , most of Chiclana centre seems to be currently surrounded by scaffolding , not much chance of urbanisation being fitted in amongst it all ?!

Take a look at www.mycadiz.biz for fuller information on the electricity situation in Chiclana and what, if anything, those experiencing problems have been able to do, or not - as in some cases.

A word of caution, which has been said on other posts on this website: be very careful about giving info. on the location of your property when you are not here permanently.

Speaking of electricity , i'm sure you will be delighted to hear that Endesa announced record profits today of 3,182 million euros , 154% up on last year !

Ryanair are currently seeking a second Spanish base airport , Girona near Barcelona is the first , Ryanair currently fly to 21 destinations from there across Europe . They have discussed Jerez as an option with Ryanair asking for a 4 euro per person subsidy ,but no decision yet, if it were Jerez the likely additions to UK flight destinations would be Luton , Bournemouth and East Midlands , flights from Stansted run at an overall occupancy of 80% at present .

Having booked all my flights for this year on the East Midlands to Malaga route, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Ryanair started an East Midlands to Jerez. It's the way my luck seems to go!!

Hi Mourinho,

I thought subsidy was outlawed by the EU and that is why Ryanair had to give up its flights to Challoria (spelling) in France and pay fines. They now fly to somewhere in Germany 20km away instead but not subsidised.

Regards,

John.

PS a Ryanair Luton / Seville flight would suit us just right.
