That'll be the same scare tactics used in the Scottish referendum then?
And I'm sure that Madrid can also find a couple of big employers to threaten into announcing that they will up-sticks and move out if the vote were to be Yes.
And don't forget, at some point Madrid will be threatening the pre-retirement population of Catalan that they will forfeit any pension claims in the event of a Yes vote.

And as for Spain acting as guarantor, with the Euro surely the ECB is lender of last resort?

Standard pre-vote scare tactics, nothing to see here, move along......
