any
You have made two very valid points. Yes "sad and sickly events should be condemned" and have been as regards the Muslim religion.
But your other point "pros and cons"; on this thread the "cons" are OK but to a few posters any "pros" or even non-con explanations are "crap". Not exactly a discussion.

Have I somehow missed the switch from an EXPAT forum to a British Nationalist forum? People on here are now just complaining about anything foreign and not British.... It's absolutely ludicrous!

No, just approving the post I was replying to, and pointing out that to describe another post in this way or similar was not actually entering a discussion. (this is a discussion forum).

In India they were the general rule, but people tend to get a seat one installed as they get older as their knees can't take the 'strain'.
More on thread topic a joke---
The spray of water connected to Indian toilets for washing the behind is in slang terms called by some a 'Muslim shower' as it sprays up instead of down (that is Muslims do things the wrong way round e.g. write from right to left.)

Possibly more people world wide use a squatting toilet than a seated toilet, nothing to do with 'potty training'. They are easier to keep clean, using one on a train though is not easy

That because squat toilets are more widely used that it is something to aspire to?

Sitting ones, more comfortable and as I said above an integral spray of water can be fitted instead of using a jug of water.
(Many in eastern countries think 'Yuk, Yuk' to toilet paper!!!! ).

It is a matter of choice, squatting more hygienic in some ways, public ones can be sluiced down easily. Some say they help prevent constipation!! Cheaper to fit no inner system to go wrong.

I used to keep a book handy and sit there for hours,..... sheer bliss.

Mind you, I remember going to Spain, many years ago, in Salobreña and the loo was a hole with a couple of footprints either side.

But it's Ok because we are far more important that the rest of them so eventually they will just come round to our way of thinking.... Our..... British Standards. (See what I did there? Genius!)
