I was advised that the revenue taken from tobacco sales was around twice as much as the cost of treating smoke related illnesses.
That was in the UK I believe.
Dont know if it is accurate,.....never got round to checking it out.

Brought this up myself on another forum and was promptly shot down in flames.

Look into the related cost due to alcohol - WAY MORE I think..
