Just worked out that the fruit is litchi which leaves our chef ending in C

The only thing I can think of is (Raymond)BLANC but I can't make a connection yet

I put centre stage in eventually although I couldn,t really make it fit and then I twigged hardback.

Why is "firm uncovered rising damp chiefly" = rid?

Choirman or Choirboy (I think your E is wrong)
