Re: Can L1 be in different state to L2 dependants?

It should be fine. You can get the L2 visas and still stay in the UK if you wish.

Re: Moving between states on a H1B

Umm I'm not sure but I do think the H1 is location specific as well, meaning the LCA that was done in order to file for the H1 is based on a certain area or something to that effect. Google to find...

Re: SEVIS “NO SHOW” Status

The thing is you've already successfully entered the country after the 'no show' issue anyway. Yes each officer is different, but that's the case whether you have this issue or not. Since you've...

Re: West Coast / Bay Area - Tips

To be fair, though I know the Bay area is worse, prices in the Northeast have also risen dramatically. The US generally has a growing divide between the have/have nots. For example, CEO salaries...

Re: Considering a move to PGH

L1s do not generally require evidence that the job can not be done by a local. Do you all really think that many of these companies that transfer employees from one country to another really think...

Re: Do we have a chance? Employment Based.

It seems you have your options right. An additional one might be an L1, which is an intercompany transfer visa. If your husband works for Microsoft for at least a year, for example, and they are...

Re: can not take driving test in bay area as my passport can not be varified by DMV

The I-94 and/or visa should be what is needed to verify status, if that is in fact what they are trying to do. The passport does not do that.

Re: L2 EAD application questions

You send copies, not the original. Also include a current pay stub for your spouse to prove that he is still in status working for his employer. Include a copy of your spouse's I-94 too.

Re: Expediting Non-immigrant Interview Appointment

It seems like the petition is already approved and now he just needs the visa. There's no complication.

Re: Moving to Raleigh or RTP

Although I do agree that sometimes the salaries that people mention here are not in line with how most people survive in society, it does make sense, as people are moving to another country from...

Re: Car Finance

We've been on visas (F-1 and H-1B) the couple of times we've bought cars and the length of the car loan was never determined by the length of the visa.

Re: H-1B question

I know you know this, just clarifying for the OP. Anyone who applies now, meaning filing the I-485 at this point, could have their green card in 6 months.

Re: H-1B question

Re: H-1B question

it still depends. If no labor certification (EB1 and EB2 NIW) is needed, it could take months. if one is needed, it could take a couple of years. It really depends on how long each step of the...

Re: H-1B question

It depends. One doesn’t need to be on the H-1B before the employer decides to start the green card process. The employer can choose to start it even before the employee works with them, a year in,...

Re: American criminal background check - working remotely from UK

Are you their first UK employee? They certainly are not the first US company in the UK that needs this background check. They really should be able to figure out what they need to get done. Someone...

Re: Would i face difficulties renewing my US B1/B2 visa ?

Rete, she's most likely from Nigeria, as I am. I know a few people who decided to have their kids in the US or UK. A lot of it has to do with the medical care and some to do with having a US citizen...

Re: L1A Visa Advise Please

I already indicated they should file an individual petition for you.

Relates to manager or executive is just the L-1A general description. It has nothing to do with rejections.

Re: L1A Visa Advise Please

Did they return your passport?

What exactly is the next step they're taking? Are they now going to file a petition with USCIS so it's an individual one, not the blanket one they originally tried?...

Assuming the job/you qualify for an H-1B (as that's the only work visa that seems applicable in this scenario), they cannot apply for this visa until April 2018, with a start date for any successful...
