--You're more likely to find students working in bars or restaurants.

Re: Any driver or helper to recommend?

There are no government levies in Malaysia -- so not relevant to this topic.

The Philippines Embassy in Malaysia sets a minimum wage for their workers of $400USD per month (around 1200rm). Many...

Genting bus Tragedy - 37 killed.

Horrific accident in Genting. Bus was licenced to carry 48 but was carrying more than that. Unfortunately not uncommon here but this is is the worst in Malaysia's history. Something to think about...

Re: Any driver or helper to recommend?

Hello,

You have a few options for helpers -- hire through an agency and pay large fee's for doing so. You'll also probably have to wait up to 3 months for your helper to arrive.

Re: Young male British guy moving to KL in a few months, looking for advice....

Re: Young male British guy moving to KL in a few months, looking for advice....

Get your licence in the UK rather than here if you can. A UK one can be swapped for a Malaysian one but not vice versa.

Re: Young male British guy moving to KL in a few months, looking for advice....

To be fair I don't 'do' buses so haven't fully investigated ;-) Couldn't think of anything worse than sharing a coach rammed to the gills with noisy passengers, esp on a longer trip.

Having a car...

Re: Young male British guy moving to KL in a few months, looking for advice....

Why don't you take the time to get your licence over here? You will struggle relying on taxis to get around, if you want to get away for weekends, unless you're flying. The public transport options...

Re: From London to KL

I think it would be tight, but depends on your supplementary income. For schools you'll be quite limited in your choice. The least expensive one that comes to kind is ELC. Look at their website for...

Re: Who pays the legal fees?

I assume you considered living in serviced accom for your first month? It would give you some breathing space and negate the need for dodgy fee's. I just signed a new lease here and my upfront...
