Doesn't seem to be coming in our direction, which makes a pleasant change. It's bright and sunny and clear today

Singapore seems to be copping it big time. Have several friends, and friends of friends, posting quite dramatic pictures on facebook. Doesn't look good.

It was noticeable in Melaka earlier this week, but definitely not as bad as Singapore. We came to Semarang, Indonesia on Wednesday for a few days and crystal clear (well, apart from traffic pollution!) here!

It is really terrible here in JB. On good days I can always see the Straits of Johor and the Sungei Buloh reserve from where I live, but the past two days it's just been a dismal, thick, smelly pea soup over the water. Witnessed my first near-riot over face masks (just bog-standard surgical ones, not the N95s) at Watson's in Ngee Ann City in Sgp this morning. The delivery man had hardly set the pallet of boxes down and folks just swarmed all over him. He was asking them to stand back so he could open the boxes with his box cutter, but ooohh the sticky fingers of the desperate mob, if they could only tear the boxes apart to get at the goods, could've sliced a few digits here and there...Still on a mission to find N95s at the pharmacies/ malls along Tebrau Highway tomorrow, but might end up going on online to buy these after all. I've never been an alarmist, i've experienced haze in Sgp in the past 12 years that i've lived there, but this is the worst it's been, and I don't like that this has been going on for longer than usual, and the "gahmen" says it could last for weeks.
On the lighter side, my friend suggested that I clean my car tomorrow, because more often than not, it rains right after i've cleaned the car! At this point I will be very happy to get my clean car rained on, just so the haze can go away!

It's awful Froggy isn't it? I have asthma and thankfully hubby's work supplied him with an N95 mask today which he passed to me. I haven't managed to find any others.

I'm the same as you - not an alarmist by any means - but this is getting ridiculous. Even though we've stayed at home as much as possible, with all the spaces around doors and windows the haze is still creeping in.

We've got a bit of what I would class as "normal haze" here today. Just kind of misty but still a bit of sunshine breaking through. Not as bad as you guys down south.
