Re: Grocery bargains

I've been surprised how much preparation time I've been spending on meals compared to before. Apart from Sunday lunches I was really only cooking for one. I'd have expected to have been looking for...

Re: Grocery bargains

But presumably you do use one of these stores that's 20 kms away once in a while? Even if you can't lessen the travel time by calling in on the way home from work or combining it with something else,...

Re: Grocery bargains

I agree I might be lucky in having a Sobeys store just a couple of minutes from a Superstore in two different parts of Moncton and a Co-Op on the way back from one pair, supported by the drugstore...

Re: Grocery bargains

Not quite six. We're 4. It's our rice and pasta dishes that make enough for 6 or more.

It's also not the regular price - I paid $4 for some packs, each of which will do the four just a few days...

The ones at the beginning are this week's. We had the Co-Op flyer for the next week today, the rest should arrive tomorrow.

Co-Op has 500g bacon for $1.89, navels @ 33c and Boneless Pork...

Re: Grocery bargains

Here are a few of our typical dinners and total cost for FOUR reproduced from another thread.

Re: Grocery bargains

Not really money off coupons...although the co-op sometimes does that. It's more than a leaflet...several pages full of products reduced that week. This...

Re: Grocery bargains

I shop by bicycle. I know that, maybe, I'm lucky to have Sobeys and Superstore a 20 minute bike ride in one direction and very close together, while I have the same two stores available 15 minutes in...

Re: Grocery bargains

This is really the thinking behind the reason for starting the thread. As I have said here and in other threads, our income (mortgage free) for four in Canada is marginally more than my income (after...

Re: Grocery bargains

Thanks for that link.

That's actually similar to what we do anyway. I usually get the best deals available at the two main stores here, with a short shop in both.
An earlier thread I started was...

Re: Grocery bargains

The subject comes up frequently. That would suggest there is a point in comparing.

People in the UK considering the move to Canada want to know about differences between the two countries and...

Re: Grocery bargains

Not so sure about that...I occasionally go on the stores' sites and look at other province's flyers and I often see the same offers as we have.

It may also be that what's on offer here this week...
