We are lucky. Lots of kids in our neighbourhood and for the first time my youngest can play out in the street. We couldn't do that in the UK. Also I found the area we lived in back home much worse...

Yes ...you are right.
We have had some things go wrong lately and we are not settled enough here yet to just shrug them off.
We can't go back to our old lives because they don't exist anymore...

It's OK here but on balance I wish we hadn't come.
My two teenagers like it and so does my OH. My youngest and I prefer the UK.
I agree with lack of social life. We have made some good friends but...
