apart from a complete overhaul of work practices you mean? Because many places don't offer great time off, or paid time...they dont' have the incentive to do so, and if they aren't made to, why would...

depends on the area...it's a good money maker for places with a slow increase in population, like in Florida etc...

not easy to go be a student and study when you have a family, mortgage re-payments and other bills, and especially medical insurance considerations.

yeah, they just say that someone is no longer working there, no reason, therefore can't be done for discrimination which is very hard to prove.

true, it's cheap in the long run because when people get let go, there's that down time in advertising a position, training etc...and then if someone becomes eligible for benefits it only worsens the...

You wouldn't like Sweden then, because don't they give out 3 years maternity leave, though I think the government picks up the tab after x amount of time...

Aye, there was talk about maternity leave in the past here, and basically, it sucks...people just don't take it because they either don't have it or can't afford to take the unpaid time off.
