I may have already quoted my grandfather who, circa 1923, wrote home: "... tis no country for a White Man", & "You'll need two boots for one foot", after his first winter in Ontario. He was back home...

Yep! The locals used to call us "Convent kippers". They referred to the nuns as "purple penguins".



Plenty of Protestant nuns about. I was schooled by the RC version. As Millie says, convents...
