He wasn't looking for work, he hadn't dragged his whole family over on false visa's to obtain work either. so legally NO it is not doable.

yes NZ is so desperate for young people they have taken away the visa application for young adult sons and daughters of people who are already here.

on another point coming over on a 6mth "holiday" visa does not entitle you to look for work, so you would need to be careful on entering the country because if they assume you are over to actively...

is it me, been up half the night with sick daughter, again, but found that rather rude.

If you want to work and get the kids in school then you DO need a visa, British passport means nothing. also...

you need to be seeing if you can actually get in.
You will need a visa and that depends on what you have to offer NZ.
You will need to look at the Immigration website and see if you can qualify....
