As mine is an online account they will have no idea that I am now living abroad (so long as I don't use the cards) as the account it registered at my mother in laws address and I never get any...

Located the text. Its actually only in there terms and conditions and must be just to protect them from sending correspondence abroad (mine is all online anyway).

I will call them back today and check again. I am not sure why they would want me to close the account as it currently has money from my house sale in it.

It may just be best to not tell them...

Luckily everything else is sorted as far as the money is concerned. Initial Funds already in Australia and cards etc are waiting for me when I arrive this Sunday.

This is why I was shocked by what I was being told. The bank is question was A&L i.e. now part of the Santander group.

I am not 100% sure how they can tell you have been out of the country for...

I am moving with my family (7 of us) on a perm 176 to Woodvale. Our flights are booked for the 20th Feb 2010.

Container leaves on Monday and should be ready for delivery by the end of March.

I have been quoted £3500 for 20 foot and £5430 for 40 foot (ex vat) and excluding insurance

This is from London to Perth

Thanks for the replies, I agree that the warranty is a big factor.

Here are two cost examples using the Samsung LA46B550. I belive the UK equivalent is the LE46B550

The LA40B550 is around $1475...

Only the adults need chest x-ray.

Our costs look similar to yours

2 * Permanent Visa medical @ £180 + vat = £360 + vat
2 * chest x-ray @ £50 + vat = £100 + vat

yes, just wanted to check if it seemed ok.

Looking to get them done in the next 2 months, just waiting for my CO to be assigned (on a 176 perm visa), been about 10 days so hopefully get one soon....

We are a family of 7. 5 kids below 9.

Do these costs seem reasonable for the London/Kent area?

Including all Bloods and chest x-ray

£860 (ex vat and courier to Sydney)
