we are hoping to move to brisbane in the coming months and are looking for some imformation on the cost of setting up in brisbane, there is just the 3 of us.

is it fair to say that £10000-£15000 will sort us with home rental, couple of mid-range cars and all the other stuff needed to get started

Thanks guys, gives us a few places to look at, we're actually going to be renting for a while, just to find our feet! We have been over to Brisbane a few times to visit relatives but still don't...

advice on moving to brisbane

Hoping to move to Brisbane in November with my wife and 8 year old son, anyone got any reccomendations on decent suburbs/schools etc? Any info would be helpful, thanks, Paul

we are heading for brisbane, both got family there and been lucky enough to have been 4 times in the last 5 years. gold coast hopefully.

there just seems so much to do now, its a shame we couldnt do it while we where waiting for the visas.

received e-mail today to say we have got our visas, such a quick turn around from submitting medicals less then 2 weeks

Hi everybody
had medicals in manchester today took just over 1 and half hours for the 3 of us, including xrays nurse said results should land in oz aweek on monday

medicals are booked for friday, I think the police checks only take a couple of weeks, we are hoping to head off to the gold coast how about yourself.

cheers for the advice, I am hoping to do carpentry work (if we get a visa) is there much work about, i do look at the job search sites but its hard to get a idea of how much work is going on.

i have just shown my proof of funds and this was a bank statement stamped and signed, (cash in my account if you like) $34000 for a family of 3. hope this helps
