Re: Advice about returning to England from New Zealand

Re: Moving back to UK from oz. where to start?

We moved from Sydney to London 3 months ago; we had 15 boxes plus various furniture, 30 items altogether (including the boxes). We used Grace at the Sydney end and Robinsons in the UK. They gave us a...

Re: Wanting to move back to UK - where to start!

From our own experience (having been back in the UK for 6 weeks after 8 years away) it is impossible to open even a savings account unless you have proof of a permanent UK address. Opening an...

Re: Where to stay when moving back ?

We moved into an airbnb for the first 10 weeks; this sorts us out to the end of Sept, when our furniture are due to arrive from Sydney. Meanwhile we rented a flat (moving-in end of Sept) for 12...

Re: Increased luggage allowance

We did Sydney-London with Singapore air 2 weeks ago; they do allow 30kg each plus 2 x 8kg carry-on bags, but they are very strict with regard to extra weight. We had an overweight of 14kg and they...

We lived in windy Wellington and we now live in sunny Sydney. From our own, personal experience (which is by no means indicative of others):
NZ is wetter and colder
NZ has more beautiful scenery...
