if you've lost/misplaced your passport, you have to tell the UK Embassy/Consulate immediately. I think they send you out a whole bunch of forms or something in terms of when you last had it etc....

Virginia isn't too bad. You've got Washington DC nearby for the job aspect, the weather is great in the summer, and cool (note: not COLD) in the wintertime, and the people have been friendly there. ...
