I'm not clear of your priorities. If it's sports, Victoria might not be your top choice. West coast places like Tofino and Uclulet don't have many jobs. So what work and what lifestyle do you want?

Part of choosing where to live. In a town or suburb, close to work, then you can walk to most things (with or without dogs) and save that gym fee.

Yes, and it's all diabetics. In the UK it's only insulin-dependent, which makes much more sense. A mild case of Type 2 diabetes, does not pose more of a danger than many other conditions.

We have. There seem to be more hot summer days in the south east than here in the south west, and last summer we had cold winds here, even when the sun was shining.

Great beaches along the east coast of England, but as you say, cold for swimming.

Fortunately, or maybe not, we've never been keen on exploring wild places, especially mountainous ones. We do like beaches, preferably without many people around, and they are more common in Canada....

Definitely. Which is why we moved back in 2009. But now we're reversing it. We don't regret our years here, and we've done the traveling and such we wanted to, but the calm quietness of west coast...
