Re: Non-migrating child with learning difficulties?

Hi Sean - I would appreciate any info you could share. It is unlikely that he would be moving with us, but I gather he would still need a medical. Is there anything we could do to prevent this from...

My partners oldest son does not know whether he wants to emigrate with us. He lives with his mother.

The trouble is he has learning difficulties. It seems that they are quite severe, as he has...

Re: business visa 163 anyone got a visa yet?

I know J-T, but higher up in the thread, Alan mentioned that using an agent who was able to understand balance sheets was important when applying for a business visa and I'm just wondering why that...

Re: business visa 163 anyone got a visa yet?

re: Agents, I think it depends on the person. I have no trouble understanding my own balance sheet, but if there was an agent out there who could force my husband to sign the forms for me to take...

Re: Cheap flight to UK on internet?

Thanks Pollyanna and DadAgain - some more great resources that I hadn't heard of. I'm a real bargain hunter when it comes to travel, so these will be a brilliant help.

Re: Schools! State V Private

Hi Comet - many schools seem to teach a broad mix of religions now - at least in the UK. My son goes to a school which was strictly catholic and he says they teach them about all different sorts of...

Re: Schools! State V Private

I have been trying to compare schools in the Perth area, but there's so many of them. At least there's a good choice. If we need to go private I have noticed that I can send two of them over there...

Re: business visa 163 anyone got a visa yet?

Hi Lisa - Thank you. I've read about Geelong and it sounds a fantastic place to live. Thanks Bryan - I did think it sounded restrictive.

I think I'm going to try for non-state sponsored for the...

Re: perth V plasterer

Hi there. So far as I'm aware, you don't have to do the work you actually specify on your visa, so if you wanted to do other types of plastering too, I'm betting you could.

As for wages, so long...

Re: Proof That English Is Your First Language

Thank you. That makes it a heap easier. And that reminds me. I got married again 18 months ago and I didn't change my name on it. Will I need to do that before I make the application, or can I...

Proof That English Is Your First Language

Hi - to apply for the business visa, it says you need to have proof that English is your first language or take some test. As I live in the sticks, the test centres are well away from me.

So, how...

Re: Schools! State V Private

Hi there - I'm still only planning my move to Australia, so can't actually help much on the schools there.

But, I do send my son to an Independent Day School over here. And it costs a fortune -...

Hi everyone. What an informative and inspirational thread. I've read it right through and it has really helped.

I'm in the early stages of research but would really like to be in Australia by...
