I arrived June 08 and left Jan 09. I did contact them and asked if i stayed out until april would this count and i was told no, i was not a non resident until June and i had to be out of the country...

The difference with the UAE and the UK is you dont go to jail if you bounce a cheque, there are laws here to protect the lender and the borrower - what safety does the borrower have in the UAE....

i left in June 08 - i did get a rebate because of the tax i paid, i returned in January 09 and we are being made to pay tax on all overseas earnings. They told us you need to be out april to april...

sent a letter to bank and finance co's saying i was leaving
do/did have a status account and now OD by 5000dhs

So you know we left, we left a very small amount in HSBC account. Car cheques cleared this month putting us into an overdraft i didnt realise we had.... but it says cheque cleared by other...
