Price of Shutters

Hi
We are buying a property close to Brantome (Dordogne) and the property has no shutters on the windows or doors, as the current owners are not keen on them. This is going to be a holiday home, so...

Re: EB-5 Capital? Anybody invested with them?

As far as I am aware, the only regional centre with 100% approval rates is Jay Peak, Vermont.

Re: EB-5 Regional Centre for California or overall states?

Check out my postings on Jay Peak. We invested in phase 1 and their timescale for processing etc is very impressive. Again my previous postings will give the the info.

We currently receive an...

Re: I 829 condition removal on EB 5 RC

We had our conditions removed back in July, so have our 10 year green cards. I did post this on the forum.

This was through Jay Peak, where I understand there is 100% approval.

Re: EB5 - Jay Peak

In answer to the above:

We used the attorneys that were recommended by Jay Peak. This made sense as they have all the documentation to hand. Legal fees were in addition to the "fee" and a couple...

Re: Which EB5 Seattle or Jay Peak?

Our attorneys submitted the I829 in January and we had our biometrics appointment within 2-3 weeks but the office was closed due to a snow storm, so that was rescheduled for late March, so if you...

I have a brand new 10 year green card in my hand.

So it does happen and as far as I am aware all of my fellow investors in phase 1...

Re: Flying dog back to UK

Could you remember what the cost was and if this is dependant on size/weight.

Thanks

Playstation 3

Cannot seem to find any recent posts on whether or not the Sony Playstation 3 would work in the UK.

Would it play European DVD's?

Also how about a Sony home cinema sound system and blu ray...

Re: Which EB5 Seattle or Jay Peak?

Correct. The EB5 visa is an immigration visa -therefore those fortunate enough to get one are doing so to be able to live in the USofA.

Being a green card holder means that fiscally the holder...

Re: Which EB5 Seattle or Jay Peak?

Of course you have to prove that the regional centre you are investing in is real. The regional centre has to be approved by the government, so when you apply the attorney acting on behalf of the...

Re: Which EB5 Seattle or Jay Peak?

You are not restricted as to where you live. So you could invest in an EB5 in Vermont and live in Florida. You are also able to work, as is your Wife (if applicable).

As far as I am aware, the...

Re: Which EB5 Seattle or Jay Peak?

I am comfortable with the exit strategy, I should point out that I or the other investors have little or no say in this but that is something we knew from the start.

We are a family of 4 and...

Re: Which EB5 Seattle or Jay Peak?

I went with Jay Peak (as you will see from my past posts).

I am very happy with my decision. We get an income, which will work out to around 4-5%pa. We have recently asked for the conditions to...

Re: EB5 - Jay Peak

We are in phase 1 at Jay Peak and yes we get an income from the hotel. I anticipate a return of around 3% this year.

I thought that the water park was on track, if not ahead of schedule and the...

Re: UK Citizen seeking Green Card

Why not go for the EB-5 visa and invest 500K?

You can then live wherever you want and start your own company, without any restrictions.

Re: Anyone knows about EB5

We have applied to have the conditions removed but this was only done recently. Other investors in phase 1 (which we are in) have had their conditions removed so am hopeful to get the same.

As...

Re: Anyone knows about EB5

I would hope we will get our initial investment back. The exit strategy for our regional centre is fairly well structured but of course nothing is guaranteed.

The Vermont EB5 set up appears to be...

Re: Anyone knows about EB5

Not heard of anyone getting their investment back but I only know about Jay Peak and our investment is not due back for at least another 1 - 2 years.

We do get a fairly good income though and this...

Re: Anyone knows about EB5

I suggest you ask your lawyer why he recommends these two regional centres.

As Ray has said, they both involve property and as we all know you need to be super savy/lucky to invest in property...

Re: Payable Capital Gains tax on UK house sale ?

Actually 15% or even 20% is not as bad as 40% in the UK.

Although no one likes to pay tax and CGT is a particularly unfair one. A bit like death duties. It seems to be pretty fair in the USA.
