Re: Considering the merits of daughter attending uni in UK

The other thing to consider, if you come back to the UK, is going to uni in Europe. A few of my daughters' peers are considering/doing that as the fees are cheaper than the UK and it's looked on...

Re: Nantwich

Single sex state schools aren't very common ( more in the independent sector), but the two in Sandbach are state schools. They used to be selective (my grandad went to the boys school a million years...

Re: Good British Indian style restaurant Perth

My husband spent a big part of his childhood there and agrees, as verystormy says, that there are regional variations in cooking, so no one type of 'Indian' food. He says too, that what we get in the...

Re: Suffolk & Norfolk

So true!! We were there just after the 'ram raid' on the bank too.
It's a shame about the roads in North Norfolk (or most of Norfolk really), they can't cope very well with the hoards of tourists...

Re: Suffolk & Norfolk

Reepham could well be for you then. Excellent high school. Lots of my friends have children there (one has just taken their son out of private school to go there) and they're all doing very well. It...

Re: Suffolk & Norfolk

North of Norwich is my favourite market town, Reepham. It's a lovely place. We lived there for a year or so and I'd be really happy to go back someday.

Re: Hello and Advice re A Levels

There have been people who have returned to the UK without GCSEs and their children have been allowed to go straight to A levels. Have you got a school/s in mind? If so, get in touch with them and...

Re: Another step on the road:daughter started uni

I hope she has a great first term there. I was there with our eldest for open day a couple of weeks ago. We loved the city and, despite the course not being exactly what she wants, she's put it as...

Re: Hello and Advice re A Levels

What does your daughter want to do at A level? Quite a few courses are only offered at A level (at my daughters' school it's things like psychology, government and politics, philosophy etc). If your...

Re: Perth Primary Schools - State or Private?

I wouldn't worry about it if you're coming back to the UK before secondary school starts.
My daughter started at Nedlands before we moved her to one of the independent schools after 2 1/2 years. It...
