Re: How much for life we want in Brisbane

I agree house prices are overvalued all over the world, after all we've just been through a massive housing boom/bubble.

Falls could well be likely if the economy worsens but the words 60% and...

Re: Is the grass greener?

You seem like a nice caring person to give up your time to do this and good for you for doing it.

However you seem to be misinterpreting what I'm saying. Some immigration is OK but the scale we...

The argument...

Re: Is the grass greener?

You may be correct regarding the very long term future of Australia, nobody really knows.

But I can assure you there is a difference between the immigration we have in the UK and that in...

Re: Is the grass greener?

It's interesting to see the OP being shouted down for stating immigration as a reason for leaving while considering becoming one herself.

I fully intend intergrating into Australian society. ...

Re: Time to open aus account?

We've looked a bit into HSBC international accounts. Does anyone know anything about them and if they are worth using?

Java Job : Brisbane vs Perth

Thinking of moving to Australia next year and was trying to gauge the current state of the market for Java developers in Perth and Brisbane. (Our 2 choices).

Kind of... From Northumberland so that usually makes us geordies to the ignorant.

Re: Express IT Job Guaranteed!

These sought of things are 100% bull. You often see them on the telly in the UK. Ditch your mind numbing job for fantastic salary position in IT, guaranteed position in 3 months.

I'm surprised...

Re: Wow had a shock!

Scaremongering with no basis in reality? Have you got a scoobie doo what your talking about? Try reading the FT or the economist and see what their predictions are for 2008. Credit crunch anyone? ...

Re: Wow had a shock!

I take it the house you want to buy is better? If so, guess what, it's gone up too. If all houses are going up at roughly the same percent, 10 or 100 that means the house you want to buy is LESS...

Re: [BRISBANE] Our million-dollar suburbs

mmmm.... Another housing thread.

This seems to be a very emmotive issue and it's easy to see why tempers get out of hand when there is so much to lose.

My advice to anyone buying a house...

Cheers

Re: Uk interest rate cut

I'm no economics guru like our Gordon but I think you will find the official inflation figures are pure BS. 2-3% is laughable.

Think about Council Tax, Travel costs, houses. If you factor all...

Re: house sales

There seems to be some curious logic to that statement. So I have a house and I'll say it's worth 10 million pounds. Low and behold no takers.

Explanation is:

a) nobody is buying houses at...

Hi

Don't want to add to the gloomy outlook but speaking from personal experience.

1. Do not listen to a word EAs say, they are clueless liars.
2. Do not go with the highest estimate. See...

Re: Housing shortage to worsen
