Thanks for that. He did file in London a while ago, but I've not been able to complete the affidavit of support yet without being in the job (I'm a teacher and times have been tough in the US job...

Just out of curiosity if you cannot complete the I-130 process, say for example you could not get all your documentation in order on time, what happens? Can you re-file the petition again?

All I wanted was yes - still 12+ years. Not easy having to disappoint your sister and her family so wanted to be completely sure. So first 2 replies seemed a bit rude, as I've seen sillier question...

I have been reading various threads re: siblings and have learnt that the timings for visa can be 12+ years.

OK - I think I have misinterpreted the income needed....

Whilst reading thro' the threads I have come across the 3 x $17,500 thing - but this only is needed if the sponsor's income is not $17,500...

I would agree with most here that 9th grade would be the best bet. I'm a science teacher and have taught both in the UK and US (North Carolina) high schools, and as a kid attended both UK and US...

Thank you for all your comments we have found them helpful.

Just to clarify; the agency will provide fully furnished accomdation, i.e. Duplex or Apartment at a subsidised rate and car hire, again...
