We kept poultry and I also grew plants which I sold from home. I supplied a local shop with our free range eggs.

Yes, they left their horrible jobs in the U.K. and were able to stay rent free for a while in a v. small apartment which we own. When they found jobs they rented something larger but have now bought...

My daughter (English but speaks French) and her French husband both have jobs, his is tourist based, hers in an electrical shop, not a large chain b.t.w.
Took them 3/6 months to find employment.

I doubt you'll have any problems as you sound v. responsible, but maybe buy a muzzle just in case if you are out and about in the city.
