Thanks for the info, she will have completed 2 years of a nursing degree at the University West of England, so I get the feel its not such a tricky transition after all.

In October 2010 we had to move back to the UK for family reasons (after 3 years living in Brisbane), we sold our house and brought our money back with us.

We are now hoping to go back in two years...

On my 457 I have to wait 2 years till I can apply for PR, Im sure if im wrong I will be corrected.

Is it possible to go from a 457 straight to Citizenship ? and if so how long do I have to wait...

Sandra, I was told that I was not entilted to LAFHA ? IWILL HAVE TO take another look at this, can you give me any advice, I woudl prefer it if you could PM me, so I dont get stonned to death in here...

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. This time next year we will be able to apply for PR so not that long to wait, unfortunately my company moved me here on a 457 as that was quickest way...

We arrived in Brisbane in Feb 2008 on a 457 Temporary Sponsored Visa, and altough admitting I should have researched more, we find that we miss out on a lot being on a 457 rather than being a PR....
