My wife (a nurse) spoke to Capital Health in Edmonton who suggested she apply for her Alberta Nursing Licence and then get back to them. Licence took 4 months and a job offer followed...

Got the DEFRA number from the vets, can't remember off hand but can check later. Cost was £37.50 for the jab - Canada does not require a confirming blood test and jab can be done day before travel....

Air Canada have quoted us approx. £500 Heathrow to Edmonton for a Briard (big and shaggy) as freight (40kg including cage). Quotes from specialist companies have been £1100 plus. We spoke to DEFRA...
