It is towards the end of winter, so will probably be quite nice most of the time, as the guys say 20-23, but will be chilly in the nights....

Good Places on the garden route

We are doing the Garden Route next month. We're Starting in Cape st Francis and ending in De Hoop nature reserve. then flying back from CT.

Any tips on good places to visit?

I recommend you to get some advice from a proffessional on this. Especially if you are going to eventually transfer in / out of SA assets of any significance.

I agree. I think some other countries are less safe (for white eurpoeans) than SA even thought he overall murder rate is lower. For example Nigeria, Cote D'ivoire, parts of south america, Iran....

I have been here for 2 years and loved it. I would not discourage any one to do the same (as long as they are aware and careful), but I do not see the long term security in South Africa....
