I have to add that i've never had any issues with Canadian Affair - travelled with them 5 times and each occasion has been hassle free.

Thank you, it would make life so much easier if CIC explained this stuff on their website, it was mainly just the 'restoration of status' piece i was concerned about,

I asked the same thing a while back when i was debating applying for TWP at London or just jumping on the plane and getting it at POE. I didn't get any horror stories so opted for the quicker route...

Thanks for the advice - my employer was surprised to find that i was only given a 2 yr work permit as she asked for 5! There's no issues with the job offer being permanent so looks like its back to...

My new boss has done a similar thing, contacted HRSDC and given them a start date of 20 Aug in a bid to try and speed things up. I don't think it's gonna make much difference to be honest, if it did...
