Re: council tax

I sold a property earlier this year (March) and just received my bill the other day; it's 900+€ payable in 3 instalments, will I be liable for the whole year? (Due to covid shutdown I have been...

Re: unlimited international broadband & TV

FWIW I recently took up WOW, I made a point of asking about internet usage caps, and was assured there were no limits or throttling. I have tested it as hard as I can- OK maybe not 100's of gig's...

Re: Accountant needed

I have been using Helder Roque for a good number of years, very happy with the service and not expensive. His office is next door to the ABC shop in Tavira- through tall green door & up a steep stair.

Re: Tradesmen in Cabanas/Tavira area

Confort in Tavira is a good place for TV's, white goods, air-con etc., very helpful, turn up when they say and Joao, the boss speaks perfect English. 281 323230

Re: Electric Bills ?

Stuck with the hours they stipulate. Otherwise it'd be pretty pointless for them.

Re: Ask for fatura and win a car

Apparently you are unlikely to get a new car- more likely one that's been re-possessed by.... the tax department, for.... non-payment of tax!!!

Re: Highway code

Thank you for confirming that @Mike, I was thinking exactly the same thing- it's exactly as I was taught to drive some 30+ years ago. I actually got tooted at on Olhão's cube roundabout the other day...

Re: Satellite dish for skybox

A few HD viewers may have lost some BBC services today. This has nothing to do with the up-coming satellite change-over. Some services (BBC1 Wales for example) have changed over to HD, but are now...

Re: Satellite dish for skybox

Sounds about right. 2E is still testing at 43.5ºE (I'm keeping an eye on it for obvious reasons) but looks like it'll be on the move any day now. Thereafter it'll be 10 or 11 days until switch-over-...

Although my business is installing satellite TV, I have installed a couple of broadband systems for people and they're not bad. Speed was excellent- exactly what was quoted, unlike ADSL's 'up-to'...

Re: Is anyone else Losing tv Channels

Sounds like a problem at your end. Try substituting the Digibox for a known-good one before climbing around the roof. Tip: Always try the easy things first!!

"Sun outage" as it's known occurs twice a year for a few days, and October is one of the months it happens. But it usually only lasts a few minutes in the morning. Calculator here:...

Re: Options for the satelitte user

It's a LOT less legal than $ky. Receiving pay-TV without paying the broadcaster is a crime. Receiving $ky is only contravening the agreement with $ky i.e. not using it at the address specified in...

Re: How much do you pay for electricity?

90€ a month sounds excessive. Are you on a Budget account? i.e. pay a set amount every month which is 'corrected' at the end of the year. If so, you may be in for a tidy refund. One day... You can...
