Travelling to Sicily at the end of May, we are based in Catania for 6 nights and planning some day trips to Etna, Taormina and Syracusa etc.

The virus and it's variants will be circulating for years, so be it August this year or August in 3 years time, the issue of variants becoming prevalent via travel is going to be an issue.

We're really hoping so, but Spain still on the amber list here which means we would have to quarantine when we get home and that makes it untenable for us, fingers crossed that will change before...

Absolutely! Yes the delta variant is running amok here in the UK but as you say double jabbed people are not getting seriously ill or being hospitalised. Such a fine balance, certain areas of Spain...
