I must say this is confusing. Sanchez actually said the PCR will be required to enter the Balaerics, as quoted here Brits to require PCR tests, vaccination proof to enter Spain’s Balearics - La Prensa Latina Media and also on the N332 page where the clip is shown. Then Gonzalez tweeted it was to enter Spain. MSCBS still have the UK as exempt.

Anybody know when this new rule of PCR or vaccine certificate begins?

Perfect timing. just enough time for tourists (who should not be travelling to amber countries anyway) to get their tests sorted and paid for.

We have a place on the Benissa Costa a few minutes from Moraira, haven't been for a year, hopeing to get out in a few weeks time but according to our gardeners the place is well busy so i wouldn't worry yourself too much about loads of places being closed, there's plenty of Spanish, Germans, Dutch, French that's taking up the slack!

At least this now proves the UK vaccine cert/QR code is being accepted, unlike what was said earlier.

Cheers, that is good to know. Me, my husband and daughter are all
double jabbed and son has just had his first, not sure if that will be enough under the guidelines. Still on the amber list here and of course Spain has its own restrictions for UK visitors.

If your son is under 12, there's no need to show a negative test or vaccination certificate/document/app for him on the way into Spain.

https://www.spth.gob.es/info-pcr

Edit: Come to think of it that was a pretty stupid answer, nobody's vaccinating under 12s.

It's being accepted by Spain now, but not by other countries. Some countries only accept a letter, not the app. Check out the Which link.

I'm sure Bill Gates will send out an update over 5G to fix any problems with the nanobots.

Update, the change is for all of Spain but antigen tests are also accepted from Friday as well as PCR and vaccination certificates. MSCBS hasn't been updated yet but the ruling is in the gazette Disposición 10746 del BOE núm. 154 de 2021. I can't find anything about the waiting period between full vaccination and a free ride but I seem to remember it being 2 weeks for 2 jabs and 4 weeks for single jabs.

antigen tests should never be allowed for entry. they are to hit and miss and put everything that Spain and its residences have done up to now.

They're a useful indicator which is all we really need at this point (I'm not a scientist though). The vaccination programme is going well, the increase in cases is in the younger age categories and that's pretty much their choice. After all, they have made sacrifices for the rest of us whilst the older generation waited for their jabs.

As someone who travels a lot, I'm fed up paying to stand in a queue to be tested with people who haven't bathed in a week, let alone washed their hands, when I'm following all of the guidance and taking precautions. It's the only time I fear catching COVID. I would be happier with testing on demand, only required if electively unvaccinated or showing symptoms of COVID.

The stats here are interesting, showing the affected age groups and more importantly where the imported cases are coming from: Actualizacion_407_COVID-19.pdf (mscbs.gob.es)
