Re: Hi! Boston/Cambridge

Plenty of great Thai restaurants in the area. Take your pick, most are very good.

As far as buying ingredients you should find a good ethnic market. There are lots around the Central Square area...

Re: Hi! Boston/Cambridge

Finding a good curry place can be tough in the states. I would say the UK is the home of the best curries outside of India. However I would recommend Kashish in Belmont, Bombay Club in Harvard square...

Re: Pub Bars Man for farting....

Re: Any Golfers in the Boston area?

I drive past Wayland Country Club most days on the way to work, haven't played there. I always thought it looked like it was an extension of the marshland around it. I've heard of Sandy Burr. I think...

Re: Any Golfers in the Boston area?

I'm pretty flexible, i work out in Hudson, MA and have played a few courses out that way. Stow Acres, Butternut, Cyprian Keyes etc. Not much close to Boston that you can actually play anyway.

Any Golfers in the Boston area?

As (hopefully) the last snows of Winter are thawing and Spring has sprung I'm wondering if there are any hackers in the Boston area who fancy a regular golf game. When I say regular I mean, whenever...

Re: Ford Fiesta coming to America

My first car was a Mk2 Fiesta XR2, the first and last brand new car I had for a while. Unfortunately there's a world of difference between the Euro Fords and the North America ones. They ship over...

Re: Stopped for shoplifting (stealing, not trying to lift the shop up ;))

Good god, you should have definately sued that store if they were still in business. Being imprisoned as a result of the negligence of another entity is a serious situation. What would have happened...

Re: Thinking of moving to the States

I'm not sure that the L1 applies. Don't you have to be moving to a sister business established in the US for an L1 and you have to have been employed by the same company in the UK for at least a...

Re: Hi! Boston/Cambridge

I've lived in Watertown for a few years and previously lived in downtown Boston. Watertown is a great compromise between living in the city and the outlying burbs. It has a good bus service into...

Re: Dreading my first Paddys Day

Well if they really were Irish (or Scottish) they would know damn well that we don't need no excuses to get pissed up.

Re: Dreading my first Paddys Day

Please god make it stop. I'm pretty sure Patty has never been the diminutive form of Patrick, unless the Patrick in question just had gender reassignment. I think it's acceptable to call it St...

Re: Dreading my first Paddys Day

It took me a while to stop asking whereabouts in Scotland every time I met someone with an American accent to claimed to be Scottish. It's just weird that people claim nationality from another...

Re: Car prices

For 500 pounds, low mileage, no body damage, I'm guessing the brand would probably be "Matchbox".

Re: Hi and questions

Really not worth bringing any appliances, running a transformer isn't a practical option and you can pick up pretty cheap vacuum's over here.

All laptops and most desktop computers can travel...

Re: Credit card offers in already......

If your trying to build a US credit score one important factor in the FICO calculation is the % of available credit you actually use. Anything above say 35% is considered a negative. Basically you...

Re: Lend me your collective wisdom.....

First question, why LA? Unless your trying to get into Showbiz I would forget it. Now I am not speaking from much experience here but I've yet to hear a good report about the place. Unless your zip...

Re: Simple tax question ( I hope)

Re: Simple tax question ( I hope)

If you are doing an intra-company transfer to the US be sure to ask for tax advice in the deal. You might be able to work out the tax bill ahead of time but filing is a different story and you may...

Re: £10m TV deal for Victoria Beckham
