I did the same thing. If I remember correctly I ended up calling them to discuss and they increased it to £200k. It was pretty quick.

Hubby got lucky at immigration, got a kindly guy who wasn't too concerned about why he was not living in the US and let him in with no hassle.

When we did our Visa IV earlier this year we told the embassy staff we had a trip booked a week later and they said to courier the passports to them when we got back and they would finalise the visa...

The processing for my hubby and kids took about 15 minutes in total - at San Francisco airport. We were the only ones in the new immigrant queue.

I got our passports back today and the Visa issue date was 6 March with the Visa expiry date being 29 July, which was 12 months from the date of our medicals.

SO it looks like they made the visa...

I sent in my husbands forms early January 08 and had a reply within about a week. (Our interview date is 30 Jan) Sounds like your letter got lost in the post!

NO, it was an email I received from them in response to a letter I sent. The email said if you need to correspond with us, then just reply to this email...which I did!

I just had an email message from the Embassy stating they had deleted my email without reading it...this is from an email address that they gave me a few months go! GRRRRRRR:mad:
