Re: Citizenship by descent

Does anyone know what the citizenship application form from the 70's would have asked? Would it have asked for names of children of the applicant or names of children applying for citizenship with...

Re: Vetassess /Skillassess came back as negative.

I've been considering doing this on and off for the past two years. But I chicken out due to the length of time and the uncertainty of it.

Sorry I cant help with any info but I'd say deffo give it...

Re: Vetassess /Skillassess came back as negative.

Hi Tony,
Good to hear from you.

If I recall, when I looked briefly into this a couple of years ago, the HNC had changed from being equivalent to an Australian AQF III to not being (while a HND...

Re: Vetassess /Skillassess came back as negative.

I didn't express myself very well in my last post.

What I meant was that maybe they won't count it as equivalent to HND because it ..."was compressed into a 1 year study period".

Please note I...

Re: Vetassess /Skillassess came back as negative.

That didn't actually answer my question, but could be the reason why.
People who matter cant seem to understand that some people can do things faster than others. Maybe your course was downgraded...

Re: Vetassess /Skillassess came back as negative.

Was your course full or part time?

If part time then I would imagine the HTNT would be classified as the same as a HNC rather than a HND. HNC's were initially the same level as HND but now class...

Re: Anyone used ASA (Australia-migration.com) agents?

I couldn't agree more, no offence meant.

I have no problem with "a Migration Agent who advertises a high success rate", but just don't expect me personally to be impressed when it's only in...

Re: Does unemployment negatively affect the application?

I expect you are correct but then why do they consider it so important to know about the changes?

Re: Migration to Oz - Hard Facts

I'm still trying to find a crafty one if you can make any recommendations, most of them only seem to want dead-certs.

Re: Anyone used ASA (Australia-migration.com) agents?

Now someone find me the company who takes on the people who only have a 50% chance, yet still have a 99.9% success rate. That would be more impressive and undoubtedly then worth the money!

Re: Vetassess /Skillassess came back as negative.

Curious, what is the actual qualification that you think is equivalent to a HND? Some quals were downgraded to only be equivalent to HNC, especially if they were studied part-time.

Re: Does unemployment negatively affect the application?

I'm not quite sure that's what he said! (hopefully you are right but how would the change in circumstance form affect?)

On a more general note though how is unemployment viewed? I may become...

Re: Immigration in the future

If you can afford to, go for the Student Visa option (in Oz). If you can't afford to then stay at home and do your degree.

Qualifications are becoming more important these days (unfortunately for...

Re: No wonder AUS has a skills shortage!

I agree with you JMC, I've applied for several jobs and sent my Resume several times to recruitment agencies (who seem to be the only ones advertising the jobs) and most times they do not even bother...

Re: Re-Train, some one must of done it!

I'm glad it worked out for you.

We too have some equity in our house. But if I were to try the same thing I think I could have difficulty finding a 3-day per week job and still manage to pay the...

Re: Re-Train, some one must of done it!

If I need 4 years of experience in the trade I retrain in it would not be worth me doing I shouldn't think. My current profession is relatively well paid and I doubt if I could last for 4 years on...

Re: Re-Train, some one must of done it!

So you're talking about evening courses then? I can't seem to find evening courses that are at the right level that I could complete in time (I'm 40 so I've got 5 years max really).

Re: Re-Train, some one must of done it!

I'm in a similar position whereby my only real chance is to retrain.

I'm slightly curious, without wanting to pry unnecessarily, how people fund their re-training. Compared to the student visa...

Re: nvq management???

NVQ4 -> Diploma level, maybe but even then Diploma level is normal only OK for a 40 point occupation. But Level 3 was what buttslj was saying.

Re: 457 to 856 (TR to PR) - Very Quick
