Default Does unemployment negatively affect the application?

I have applied for the 176 visa, my occupation is neither on CSL or MODL. My current organization has given me till this March & then I have to leave.

Although I am running around like a headless chicken looking for jobs my concern is what if I cannot get one by March & have to stay unemployed for approx 3 months? Would it negatively affect my application & face rejection by DIAC?

Please help!

your case will be decided uopn what u have indicated in ur application .
i.e u r freezed since the day u lodged ur application , however u should inform them by form of change in circumstances 1022 about ur recent changes.

Thanks Bahaa, it brings great relief knowing that unemployment for a few months would not affect my existing application.

I'm not quite sure that's what he said! (hopefully you are right but how would the change in circumstance form affect?)

On a more general note though how is unemployment viewed? I may become unemployed soon too but have been in work for something like 9 out of the last 10 years.

Change from being employed as whatever to being unemployed that' a change in ur circumstances and it applies also if u were employed as whatever and now employed as something else which was not the job u r claiming ur points.. it is the same.

i.e u r freezed since the day u lodged ur application

N.B its my opinion and u can just send a post lodgment enquiry to DIAC through its' website.

good luck

I expect you are correct but then why do they consider it so important to know about the changes?

in my opinion i guess because if u r not working as what u have told them in application and now unemployed or changed ur job and u didnt inform them , so how would DIAC check ur papers based on changed circumstances which they didnt had been informed..

that what i guess

The main requirement is that you have worked for 12 months out of the last 24 months, so being unemployed for a few months should not affect your application.
