Re: Advice Needed RE Moving!

Hi Amy

I really wish you well and hope you can get support. I'm sure there are groups out there like Citizen's advice that can help, but moving to a different country at this stage is not an...

Re: running gite's

Hi Dave

We've lived here 8 years, children now 10 and 14 and we run gites.
We are further South than where you are planning and I do think that helps us with our holiday makers, being just 45...

Re: Just over a year

Great to read you are happy a year on. We are desperate to re start our lives back in the UK after living in France for 8 years. Nice to hear about the IT side of things - as that's what my husband...

Re: Back for Good.

I thought France was bad enough with all the red tape, but I had heard that Spain was having loads of problems with land grab and all that, so maybe you are getting off lightly - money for old rope...

Re: being forced into marriage

No offence meant but who's paying for all the trips? Who would pay the legal fees and visa fees? if you share the costs that's one thing but if it's just you paying, ask yourself why? I've heard of...

Re: Hi, any info on life in Bordeaux??

Hi
We live to the North, near to Jonzac, dept 17. We tend to drive into Bordeaux whenever we've been, there's a good park and ride near to Ikea. Trains seem far and few between from this area. A...

Re: Hi, any info on life in Bordeaux??

We've lived in France nearly 45 mins away from Bordeaux. I would say anyone looking for a bit of life needs to be closer. Its a pan if, say, you just want to go to the cinema to see an English film....

Re: GPS & radars

It seems a bizarre way to keep drivers safe on the road or being a cynic is it just a way to raise more funds? After a trip back to blighty a while ago we came back to 2 tickets - one going, one...

Re: Back for Good.

Good luck with that. Someone that stayed with us paid a pet sitter £300 per week, I was amazed, but a great idea if you can get the work.

We've just spent Xmas and New Year in the UK and had a...

Re: Hellooo? Anyone there?

I don't think we had the same storm here in the Charente Maritime, but a week or so before we had plenty of major tree branches down, fortunately not the trees themselves as we have many. One just...

Re: Long term rentals

There are several good sites to look for long lets. Try www.rentaplaceinfrance.com or as an alternative many estate agents (immobiliers) will have links on their sites or knowledge of places to rent.
