Gutsy or just selling his wares?::rofl:

The best thing for forex traders to do in the meantime is to open large positions in the GBP’s main crosses. These include the GBP/USD, GBP/AUD and...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

There will be CGs if you become a UK resident and bring your money over to the UK at a later date and stronger dollar rate, than on the day you became a UK resident.

In this case you would pay CG...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

As the saying goes, 'the trend is your friend until it does end'.

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

US, UK, China etc are all big on devaluation. I can see GBP stagnating $1.40AUD by 2011. I may have to put off my move back for a year or so. The points lost on forward contracts are staggering AUD...

Re: Charts GBP to AUD Links - From the beginning 1971?

Thanks for the chart ABC. I would say that GBP is returning to where it belongs i.e $1.30 - $1.50

Re: Charts GBP to AUD Links - From the beginning 1971?

Re: Charts GBP to AUD Links - From the beginning 1971?

Re: Moving back to UK - Need help on settlement visa

I'm in the same boat Jack. I reckon that saying that you will stay in a hotel until you can rent, is an option. What it does mean is that when you arrive in the UK, if you are checked, and don't have...

Re: Grifter or Chopper

Same here:

Went from a purple Budgie to a silver grifter.

If you folder back the mud flaps on the grifter, it would kind of sound like a motorbike (until friction burned them away), aswell as...

Re: mortgages on return to Uk

Agree with everything you say. It seems as though some people want a financial noose around their necks if it means they can paint their walls or do up their garden.

What these people don't...

Reread my post. It's not about making money..its about not losing money.

Its all in the maths. If you can do simple maths, you can save yourself a fortune.

Re: Australian Dollar - exchange rate?!

Actually, interest rates are just one factor.

The major factor is current account deficits. The UK has a deficit 4x that of Australia, and the gap is getting wider. I would expect the £1 to fetch...

Re: mortgages on return to Uk

Anyone who thinks renting is dead money in the current environment is sadly deluded.

Scenario 1:

Lets say you bought a house for £200k, 12 months ago and put down £20K as a deposit. Today...
