My puppy eats his own poo
I think the thread title just about says it all. My husband bought me a gorgeous chocloate lab pup (8 weeks old) and every time he poos he turns around and eats it! His breath smells like shit and I want him to stop. Does anyone know of any way to get him to stop eating it? I try to get to the papers as soon as he's done squatting, but he's really quick. It's like he's racing me to it.

sorry, have you tried phoning your local vet centre, usually they have a dog behaviourist or something who can give you some hints and tips on how to stop it, hope you get it sorted though.

It's not that bad. He'll grow out of it. We've all done it. Who here can honestly say they haven't eaten their own poo?

Our 11 month old pup used to do it all the time when she was younger, we spoke to the vet & she said quite a lot of pups do it, they just like the smell & taste of it She has grown out of it now, but it did save time pooper scooping
