we lived in rural kanata for a year....just left to relocate in vancouver....kanata & ottawa very nice,beautiful cold winter and warm/hot summers...property is dirt cheap all through the...

hi..no you only pay small contributions..$100 or so.....but one of NZ's redeeming features is its extremely cheap private schooling...good quality also....cheers

Question Tax breaks for rental owners..

Just wondering if you own a rental property,can you offset any losses against income tax....so if your rental income did not cover the mortgage for example can this loss be set off against income...

........been retired for the last 5 years....now 45 and kids are now 7&10 and at full time school etc....and cutting the grass has become a bit boring....so now to get back into the buzz of work.....

hi acer..thanks for that...my office hours are 8.00 - 5.00....but i don't want to be travelling/commuting more than 45 mins max.....we have thought and researched north and west van and deep...

hi...sure we understand...but i can see that $800k might get you something,then a condo downtown for $350k..........also looking into white rock area on similar basis.......cheers.

thanks for that.....but even at 1900mm that is 3 times the rainfall of edinburgh and london......even in auckland where we were for a while it was only 1150mm and that was near sub tropical....1900mm...
