Manly downtown has had a few yob problems, mainly from day trippers. However back from the beach, fairlight, balgowlah is a beautiful area.

Try Manly/Fairlight/Balgowlah. Ferry to Circular is 35 min.plus express buses
Plenty of 2-3 bed federations available in the $850k+ range. unbeatable area for shops and resturants

In a nutshell, sydney rocks. PMP certifed, landed tuesday, 2 interviews thursday, 3rd on monday, 3 job offers by the following wednesday. all global companies

There's a good premium for UK & US...

First of, laptop is no good without broadband / wifi. So you'll still need get connected. Also hold off any purchases in Europe for two reasons:
a) warranty issues in Australia b) Salary forgo.
