You could always get a forward rate on half of it and chance the rest later on. The update emails from the money exchangers recommended waiting if you can....but you never know what is going to...

I opened mine with Westpac (after being recommended by our friends already out in Oz) and it was very easy - good so far, hopefully as good when we get there!

I added mine to my mortgage in anticipation of selling the house soon after getting the visa (just waiting to exchange now!!) and on the bond form just put 'equity from house' as the source of the...

I would agree here - MS do still recognise the NT4 MCSE as valid. There was a war when they originally said they would retire the qual so they left it as is. I wouldn't have thought you would have...

I didn't find it time consuming, sent passports on a Thursday, received them back on the Saturday - 3 days!

You're not allowed them on a plane, don't know about containers though. I would definitely check with the shipping agent as they could be classed as an explosive - well if there were enough of them!

That's terrible. I can't believe someone could/would do that. At least on the positive you're off now, and to a place where buying and selling property is MUCH easier - you'll never have to do that...

What do you do about driving licenses? We are moving out at the beginning of Sept to temp accommodation for a month before flying out to Perth. Do we change the address on the licenses:
a. at all....

I agree, see how the agent seems when they come round. We chose the one who showed the most interest in the house. Afterwards we negotiated on fees and settled on 1.25% for a price range (much)...

Recommend Ozforex - free transfers and open 24/7 (except weekends). Always gave me a better rate than HIFX. Don't forget to register early with all FX co's - it does take some time...
