It depends on lots of things really. When we were ready to leave the UK, we were told that there was a long delay in issuing work permits from London so we applied at Vancouver airport.

As iaink says, if your new employer is ok with you going back then why not?
If you can get most of your loose ends tied up before you go then hopefully you wouldn't need to go back for too long -...

To the best of my knowledge, work permits are valid for as long as the person on the immigration desk decides.
We were given 12 months but told that we could extend them as long as we did it at...

No.....Muffins are made of bread dough and so don't have all the little holes in that crumpets do. The butter just sits on the top instead of soaking in and dripping through the holes...mmmmm...

We advertised on houseladder first and although we had over 500 hits only got 3 leads - one of which did make an offer but wasn't in a position to complete the sale. Then we advertised everywhere...
