I wouldn't, I would sell all your 110 stuff and buy new when you get here.
Personally I didn't find tools to be that expensive plus you will need some different tools anyway, maybe a compressor and...

I'm a fixing carpenter as well. Who do you reckon pays the best rates? I've only worked for BGC and Impressions and the latter pay roughly 10% less.

Not true, plumbers can earn around $2000 per week, if they go down the sub contractors route. The ones on crap wages are probably still to obtain their licences.
