Registered letter......time scale

Sent a registered letter (small parcel type) from Canada to the UK containing important documents on the 12th Nov hasn't reached destination yet.

Sent for new passport for son today and guess what PPR arrived too!
I had sent a cover letter stating that we were expecting our PPR's with sons passport renewal so hopfully a quick return.

Had a bit of a delay getting our medicals results sent from Ottawa to London basically Ottawa had forgotten to. Called them last Tuesday......PPR today

If this is the case would his PR visa be extended when his UK passport is renewed and is this a straight forward process.

Obviously the best option would be to renew his UK passport prior to PPR...

Think Im right in saying that a Passport should have at least 6months left when travelling abroad. Does the same apply with PPR.


Once again had medicals in May/June so hopefully PPR soon.

After a couple of phone calls today, turns out that Ottawa received our medicals early July and passed them on July 17th but they didn't fwd my results to London:curse:

We had our Medicals taken 21st and 28th of May'08 still waiting for passport requests. Now been 3 yrs since we submitted our PR application.

I'm in the same situation as you Mrs M, We had our Medicals taken in Lethbridge late May and have heard nothing. ..........Little concerned when I hear that some people who had medicals taken in July...

It was my understanding that this is not the case if you are already living and working in Canada. My wife and I have been in Canada for a year and a half on work visas

Immigration consultants back home have let me know(by email) that they have received a letter from CHC (London) regarding my proof of funds. They want me to fill out a form. Any Idea what this is...

Got me worried now, immigration consultants I used back home sent me a letter saying that CIC requested updates to my application (since it was submitted in Oct 2005 while we still lived in the UK)...

Seen lots of info on how to prevent bites etc but any tips on how to get rid of swelling/itch/soreness etc should any of the little blighters succeed in penetrating my defence systems
