Default Awaiting PPR but sons UK passport expires May 09

Think Im right in saying that a Passport should have at least 6months left when travelling abroad. Does the same apply with PPR.

Once again had medicals in May/June so hopefully PPR soon.

No, but the visa will only be valid to the expiry of the passport.

We sent ours off for renewal and got a full 10 year passport - back just in time before we received PPR... would advise passport renewal - only takes 2 weeks to come back aswell!

If this is the case would his PR visa be extended when his UK passport is renewed and is this a straight forward process.

Obviously the best option would be to renew his UK passport prior to PPR just concerned that we may receive ppr notice while his passport is in the UK

Just apply for a passport renewal.. it can be done in a day or in a week or in 2 weeks , it all depends on how much you want to spend?

They would not extend the visa. Renew the passport now.

If you are in Canada, normal renewal is through the British High Commission Ottawa.

Sent for new passport for son today and guess what PPR arrived too!
I had sent a cover letter stating that we were expecting our PPR's with sons passport renewal so hopfully a quick return.
