Just a thought. If you only have indefinite leave to remain and not UK citizenship then that can expire if you are living abroad. This could mean another visa to return to the UK in the future....

The visa you mention is temporary and because of your age cannot become permanent. Unfortunately at your age (and I am older….) the only sure way to permanent residency would be a partner visa.

yes that is what I mean I’m not eligible for age pension because assets/ income too high. That means I can’t claim SAPTO. It isn’t just about age.

Yes but to be eligible for SAPTO you have to be eligible for other Centrelink payments like age pension. You don’t just get it because of age. I’m unlikely to qualify for age pension or benefits so...

I just sent the form to the ATO, they then communicated with HMRC. From sending the form in to my pension company altering the tax code was 3 or 4 months. No idea if you can do it before drawdown...

Point three. The forms you need are from the ATO. return them to the ATO and they will endorse them confirming Aus residency. They then send them to HMRC who inform the pension company to pay you...
