Paid roughly 300 quid for a policy with BUPA in the UK before I left which seemed really expensive at the time but it did cover absolutely everything including dental etc, they offered cheaper...

........more of a practical issue but kettles here seem to take forever to boil, don't know why, perhaps because the locals all live in Starucks or Blenz :D , unsure even if bringing one from home...

Tried all over the lower mainland, even ones quite far out were booked far ahead, when I got here 90 days seemed loads of time but it has disappeared very quickly!!

I arrived here from Edinburgh about 2 weeks ago; Vancouver is fantastic, the Canadians are generally great, believe in yourself, be confident and you will be fine!!!

You might want to take a short term rental - I move across in the next few days :D and have taken a 3 month lease out on a place in Yaletown (which is pretty good socially).

L'il Bear - aren't there any Arsenal supporters clubs over there, I know for a fact there are 2 Rangers supporters clubs in Vancouver which I'll join when I get over :confused:

Bank of Scotland in the UK don't give out these letters BEFORE you move across, instead your chosen bank in Canada has to contact them direct and then the UK bank will give a reference.
