Extended stay visa

Hi

I have looked on the DIMIA website and established that my Mum could get an extended stay visa of up to 12 months (I think that's right?)

But is that a 'once and never again' visa or can...

My son and I have PR visas and will move to Melbourne in August 07.

My brother is already in Australia, I'm not sure what type of visa he is on but he is unlikely to be able to obtain a PR...
