This site is all you need to keep upto date with the spread and breaking bird flu news. Especially useful if you live in the AIN region where things are unfortunately happening, but I'm in Provence...

The general advice would be to improve your language skills as much as possible before you move over, and depending on your trade do as much as you can to secure business contacts in the local area...

Insurance is actually with AXA but arranged through AA.

Interesting - I took my car from England to Jersey for 2 or 3 years, got local insurance no problem without re-registering an then moved to France about a year ago and got insurance for an English...
